A Day Worth Recording

Bell

backblip

A strange two-part day today.

The morning comprised of the final major phase of decorating the back room - the second coat of the emulsion; and it looks good.

This bell - presumably a Swiss cow bell - was given to us by an older Quaker friend many years ago. They had used it to call in their children from their large garden, and thought we might find it similarly useful - which we do.

It was the first artefact to return to the now decorated room.

The afternoon was the Memorial Meeting for Thurstan. We'd needed to use the largest Meeting House in Cambridge to accommodate everyone - and it was full; spilling out in to the entrance corridor.

Co-incident to the Meeting, the church bell that Thurstan had donated to Shelford church to mark the death of his first wife, was being rung.
