Almondblossom

Boston Ivy

Look away now anyone who doesn't want to be reminded that autumn is just around the corner...  Just down the road from my house is a detached property that many decades ago was a pub. Its garden wall is covered with this vine, which I always thought was Virginia creeper. During my research for this entry I realised that it's actually Boston Ivy, Parthenocissus tricuspidata. Truly every day is a school day.

Anyway back to autumn - the tips of the fabulously bold leaves are just turning pink, which I hadn't noticed at all before now; I was only interested in capturing the light and shade created by the sun. The leaves seem to straddle the seasons, I like that.
