Sunday Afternoon in the Park

What a glorious day..the dreadful heat and humidity gone, but still lots of sun - the kind of sun you want to sit in, not hide from. A very quiet day...coffee with a neighbour, FaceTime with a friend, phone chat with family..writing some emails...just getting caught up with folks. Puttered about in the garden, did the Sunday crossword...and later in the afternoon ventured down to the harbour to stroll along the waterfront. What a popular spot! The perfect place to spend a sunny Sunday.. everyone in a summer mood..picnicking, lounging on the beach, strolling along the promenade, roller blading, biking, or just sitting on a bench watching the people go by. It was such a beautiful, clear day, that you could see the silhouette of the CN tower in Toronto from the promenade.

I am hoping this great weather holds for a while. Weather permitting, The Garden Girls are coming tomorrow morning at 9AM and again on Tuesday to give my bedraggled garden a make-over. Now that the shrub trimming is done, Tracy is bringing two teenage girls with her to tackle the hard part - getting rid of all those weeds that have had free rein out there for so long.. I am also heading north to the cottage and would appreciate some comfortable summer weather up there for the remaining days of August! I am looking forward to swimming, boating and lounging on the dock - all of which are much more fun in sun than in rain.

And then, when I return from the cottage I will have a beautiful tidy garden waiting for me! Life is good.
