Today's walk took us to two miradores (viewpoints) -- this was the higher and more impressive one where we stopped for coffee. It was 8C when we set out at 9 a.m.! Haven't been so cold in months. It was a steep hike (luckily in the shade of the forest) up to this point, but afterwards there was a long easy stretch on the level, and thereafter it was mostly downhill apart from a short steep bit up to the second mirador. Lovely varied scenery: river, pastures, woodland, stone-built villages, and luckily as the day wore on a breeze got up. By the time we got back to the car it was 28C, and I had to will myself to keep putting one foot in front of the other for the last kilometre.  A cold beer in Tavascan was most welcome.

Stats: 11 km, 380 m climbing, 5 hours including stops and one wrong turn. Extra: S surveying the view.

We had a quick lunch at the Spanish hour of 3 pm and then pottered ... aperos now reaching the table.
