Caistor

Backblip 2

An early start for a trip down to Lincolnshire to MrM Senior's house, over 220 miles away. He's been in hospital with Covid-19 for a week now, and is desperate to get home, but as he still still requires an oxygen mask it's unlikely to be in the next day or two. MrM's sister L has cleaned the house, and MrM offered to cut the lawns - they're enormous. He spent a long while messing around with mowers - a ride-on one and a smaller petrol mower - but for various reasons didn't manage to cut the lawns with either. Meanwhile I did a huge amount of weeding, so the garden at least looks a little better.

On the way there we had a couple of stops. The first was at a crowded service station, where very few other people were wearing a mask. What pandemic? We were in and out very quickly! The second was in Caistor, a very quiet Lincolnshire town which was awash with flowers, and the scent of petunias filled the air! Lovely!
