A companion piece to yesterday's merganser (Mergus serrator); the female.
Still a bit crazy in the hairstyle, but a bit more dowdy. If you use the embiggification button, you will probably be able to see the "toothed" beak that gives these chaps their species name.
There were 2 pairs on the boating pond at Levenhall Links.
