Return to the North

In remembrance

Before they lowered the coffin into the ground yesterday the tray (yes tray) of flowers was taken off. In closer inspection there were lots of small posies in jam jars and each of us who had attended was given one to take away with us if we wished. This was one of them.
Today our neighbour’s son and family have left for home and she will no doubt enjoy the peace ( H had been in hospital / a hone for the whole of the pandemic) so she is used to the stillness. It will be interesting to see how much they keep an eye on her, not because of her loss but because of the dementia which is most certainly deteriorating.
