Stock Ghyll waterfall. I was surprised to see this much water coming down.

Lucky I’m an early riser because there was a text message from the plumber at 7.30 saying he’d be here around 8.30. Our downstairs toilet cistern has been overflowing for a few weeks. First job was to replace a washer. Despite having two cases with lots of compartments containing washers of all shapes and sizes he didn’t have the right one. Off he went in his van and about 10 minutes later was back with one. Fitted, reassembled, and there was still a leak. A closer look showed that the unit had a crack. Off he went again and fortunately the owner of the main plumbing business in Ambleside was around and in his store he found one ….. just one ….. that looked the right shape. That did the trick and our mini waterfall (it was more like a fast drip) has stopped. He’s also replaced the tap tops on the downstairs washbasin so they now turn off smoothly and don't drip.

I should sleep well tonight.
