Have Camera Will Travel

Life is full of surprises

After breakfast we headed out on our first adventure, we checked out the park and ride and trains for Mr PC’s football match at Aston Villa.

Next we headed to Clowes Wood Nature Reserve where we had a wonderful walk through the woods. We were impressed by all the bird nesting boxes also bat boxes. We wondered why they were all numbered ( then decided that how else would the postman deliver the mail). We then visited the three man made reservoirs which date back to the 1820’s (extra 2). I say three reservoirs but due to some construction going on we could only get to one and had to return the way we came.

Our next trip was to Hatton Locks to watch the narrow boats and have our picnic lunch on the towpath. There are 21 locks in total but no boats going through today.(extra1)

Our next and final stop was at Lickey Hill a 524 acre park popular with hikers and mountain bikers, this is where today’s main blip came from I saw that I’d captured three butterflies but didn’t notice the little caterpillar till later.

Although it wasn’t sunny we did have a very enjoyable day.

Who would believe that all of this is just 10 miles or so from the centre of Birmingham.
