Marmalade Hoverfly

A bit weary after three days of fieldwork, but I had to keep going as I had a morning meeting at Marholm to look at possible biodiversity enhancements for the Nature Recovery Plan. We had a pleasant couple of hours walking round the village, discussing ways of diversifying grass verges and looking at a possible site for planting an oak tree.

The rest of the day was spent at home, finally tackling some of the mess in the living room (though I probably should have been working on more reports). Still a long way to go, but I've definitely made progress!

The cleaning and tidying was interspersed with garden breaks. The Common Knapweed is in full bloom and is attracting a host of bees and hoverflies - this Marmalade Hoverfly was the most obliging subject!
