Union Canal aqueduct, Slateford

A mono blip to match the miserable weather. Just after this, the rain came down with intent leaving us to walk the 5 miles to Stockwell along the Waters of Leith path in the wet.

We arrived at Stockbridge after 2.00pm to find every cafe full and a waiting list. No better in the New Town, the Standing Order was heaving. It seemed a dangerous place to us. All the likely places on Rose Yard were full too. In the end we slogged our way to John Lewis in the new St James’s Centre for a very late lunch. It was quieter and more relaxed there.

We were intending to see the Georgian House on Charlotte Square. By the time we’d finished lunch the place was closed so we caught the 44 back.

We should have anticipated that a wet August Saturday in Edinburgh would have been busy. Still it’s the first day of poor weather since we arrived.

Pushing on to Moray for a few day in Forres to see the final part of the family. Some interesting activities planned for those day.

Thank you for continuing to visit and comment while we’re away. I’m trying to keep up with your comments but not visiting any journals.
