Autumn waiting in the wings ...

I went out for a quick rainy walk round the barley field and was struck by the vivid red colour of the Rowan tree. Quite beautiful against the colour if the barley.
I went out with a local friend today - we fed some shopping and caught up with what has been going on in our lives.
Such distressing news about Afganistan.
Scenes of unspeakable terror and panic - it is quite overwhelming .
