Water Lily

Or Nymphaea.

A wander round the Botanics this afternoon. I had thought the sun was about to break through but as we crossed the park, Arthur’s Seat was already disappearing into the haar. However, that didn’t spoil our experience of the gardens with the sun continuing to battle its way through every now and again, to keep the temperature up. As ever, the  Botanics had a wonderfully calming effect. We lingered over a light lunch there and then had a further stroll round, looking at some old favourites and spotting new things. There were a few water lilies in the pond beside Inverleith House - I think this one shows some signs of having been splashed in yesterday’s rain.
