Changed Days

Two days ago I was commuting to work up here in the snow.

And remember yesterday's post about 'jealousy' of people in cars? Well at this time in the morning the High Road is closed to motorised traffic. And here's the thing, commuting to work how many drivers divert up here when it opens at 8.30 anyway? That would be making the commute longer, and who wants to do that when they're driving to work? The bike makes you want to climb the hill for the view in the sun (or to get some snow, obviously).

On the way up I passed a two ladies, with two kids, one in a wheelchair with a bucket on her lap. Turns out they were walking up to Dunsapie Loch to look for mating toads out in the road, ushering them to safety. Three years ago almost to the day I was rescuing toads on my commute along the Innocent Path. Sadly saw none this morning.

Day at work was work. Figured today that with Good Friday and Easter Monday to come I only had 2 weeks of work days till we're on holiday. Which is a nice thought.

Bakewell tart is now cooling in the kitchen. Day is done.
