Hampton Wood

We decided on a bit of a day out.  After putting together a packed lunch we headed off to Hampton Wood and Meadow, a Warwickshire Wildlife Trust Reserve near Hampton Lucy and Charlecote.  We have not been there before but had a very good walk around the woods then by the banks of the River Avon on their wetlands meadow.  By the time we were back at the car it was time for our picnic lunch.

After lunch coffee was calling so we drove over to Charlecote.   Being a sunny afternoon the National Trust property was rammed and the queue for coffee was very long.  Ann wanted to visit the Lucy family's vault in Charlecote Church so we wandered over there.  The church is very impressive for a small village, the Lucy family have their tombs in a separate room near the altar.  We had a look round and I took some pics.

We still hadn't satisfied our coffee craving so decided on our current favourite, The Farm, where we had a nice coffee at an outside table watching the toddlers in the play area and imagining us doing the same with grandson Raffy.

The picture is of St. Leonard's Church at Charlecote taken from the meadow at Hampton Wood. The extras are the inside of the church and a shot of the woods.
