Rural street scene

Thanks to Carolina for hosting MonoMonday. The theme this week is Street scene.
This is at the junction of the rural road we live on (branches off to the left), the road to one of the ferry terminals (to the right), and the main road to town where the truck is headed. The roads here aren't in great shape, and some of the cracks and patches are visible in the image.
The extra is a photo of a new gate that I took on my morning walk. Not quite finished levelling it, apparently, and I'm quite intrigued by what looks like some kind of netting on the bottom of the right side.
Once again it looked like we might get some rain but it cleared up and it's sunny, around 17 degrees in late afternoon as I'm posting. It feels quite chilly after those very hot days we had, hard to get used to these shifts in the weather.
Great news that Krista has a couple of days with no commitments and she and Renata are coming tomorrow for a short visit!  What a busy summer Krista has had, with a 6-week practicum and social events with friends, including weddings. It wouldn't feel like a proper summer without a visit from her. She's come here every summer since she was born!  Bruce the Boston terrier is coming too. We were hoping that there would be some days available when Kalyn could also come with the other two, but her volleyball team has started training every day.
We've got the room ready for them and can't wait to get family hugs tomorrow!
