Hoverfly

This morning's restrained warmth turned into blazing hot sunshine by this afternoon. Butterflies spotted today include dozens of speckled woods, small whites, lots of small tortoiseshells, one painted lady, one peacock, and a magpie moth. Add to those lots of bees and hoverflies and it's really back summery again. I've chosen a hoverfly from that lot - so pretty and often overlooked. There are many different types, and I'm afraid I've no idea which kind this is. Hoping this weather sticks around for the rest of the week - and for the sake of workers - over the coming bank holiday weekend.

Picked another 130 g of blackberries again today; that's about 4.5 ozs.
