Snitterfield Bushes

The weather being particularly nice and sunny, we decided to visit another Warwickshire Wildlife Trust nature reserve today.  Snitterfield Bushes is split across the Bearley/Snitterfield Road and, besides for the guy with the mechanic grabber that was doing some coppicing, was deserted.   We soon immersed ourselves in the woods, there are quite clearly marked paths, some of which are concrete, a throwback to the Second World War when apparently the site was used as an airfield, though you wouldn't know it now!

We had a good walk through the woods, and will go back again to do other parts. Apparently spring is a good time to go, though the reserve is open 24/7 all year round.  Naturally I took some pics, this is a small sample.

More by design than accident we knew that the reserve was on the road heading to The Farm where we went for a coffee after all that fresh air and exercise.
