Crazy About Birds

Snowberry Clearwing Moth

One of the hummingbird moths - the snowberry clearwing moth. I took my camera down to the mailbox and found myself trying to catch photos of this fast moving creature enjoying the butterfly bush. Just as a test, I switched the camera to the "shutter priority" mode (I usually keep in in "aperture mode") and made the shutter speed as fast as it could be. Sure enough it caught the wings - but it made the whole photo noisy. I know I should have adjusted something else as well, but it was too hot out there to bother for long, so I just figured I'd settle for what I got.
