Shooting and fishing

It was blowing a bitterly cold gale outside this morning so I decided to go down to the river side for our walk today and it was a wise choice. I came across this group of men and women armed with long fishing rods and thought nothing of it until i noticed that the man bringing up the rear has a gun slung across his back. I have absolutely no idea what they might have been after but they made their way back to the cars - which you can just see - and then moved on further down the river to set up their spots from which to fish.

The river is feet lower than a couple of months back and further along large stones were sitting proud when they had been covered. It is certainly low for the time of year so I hope the local mallard ducks choose sensible sites for their nest building.

Cara usually dashes in and out of the water, swimming whenever she gets the chance, but today she simply ventured in up to her tummy. Bruce settled with paddling and guddling for stones.
