Lunchtime map study

Not really: our route to the pub at Winyard's Gap had required a bit of map-reading, but the return was going to be much simpler (edit: it required some careful reference to the map again).  This is the view northwest from the pub garden, on a beautiful day.  The walk had been wonderful, along the public footpaths and bridleways, with horses, cows and buzzards to keep us company.

In the Extra, my walking companion emerges from beneath a tree overhanging one of the many gates we had to go through.  The route was a total of about 5 ¼ miles, so the beer at the pub was well and truly walked off . . .
