Columbia Road

We are almost never in London at the weekend, so it was a treat to walk to Columbia Road flower market this morning.  It's about 2 miles through the back streets of Shoreditch, so here is a medley of great plant stalls, some eye-catching street art and MrHCB buying a Euphorbia - he loves succulents!

We were in London to go to a recording session this afternoon for an orchestra we support, called the Academy of Ancient Music, in St John's Smith Square.  The AAM started to record the complete set of Mozart Piano Concerti in 1993, but life got in the way, and they are just now completing the set, with the same pianist, Robert Levin, an American who performs on a fortepiano.  It was amazing to listen through several "takes" and to hear the conductor and the recording engineer pick up on the tiniest points, such perfectionists!
