Sturgill Simpson - Juanita

A new day. Woke up early and got a good work out in. Lots of sleep makes for a clearer day. Didn’t forget to return a book to a friend after work. Their journey is almost at an end here and it was wonderful to catch up after such a long time (perhaps a year plus). The energy was still the same and it felt like like a breath of fresh air to speak so freely. Such spirits are not ones to overlook.

We had lent each other books that meant something and it couldn’t have come at a better time as I had revived my reading bug, this was when Corona was in its 1st wave. I had been reading a lot of self-help books that were strong with a direction and script but as good as they were, they provided “answers” but not mystery/curiosity. They didn’t provide the space to explore but the path to an “end”. “I Am The Messenger” by Markus Zusak is a very arresting young readers book that was minimal in detail but rich in emotional/surreal potency. Every page had me in the palms of its poetic tendrils to see what happened next. It is unashamedly Australian, full of worthwhile surprises and thoughtful reflection. It didn’t preach but it inspired. Of the books that I had read in that period of time, this one gave inspiration to try. I had lent Status Anxiety by Alain De Botton which was a game changer for me, too. The bbc documentary I remember watching on a Saturday night in the U.K.. the book, awesome.

Big steps are ahead, not sure what’s there, but glad to have spent this time with you. Never stop being your awesome self. You will continue to make a difference; you made a lot here.
