The Doorman

When I lived in New York City, most apartment buildings had doorman. They are much less common here in Portland but you can find them in a few condo buildings. I never thought it necessary to have someone open the door for me but I guess they do provide some building security. I doubt that the job of the doorman has changed much in the last 100 years and this picture reminded of that bygone time.
