Thumbs Up For This Bee

In the early summer the verges and roundabouts are yellow with dandelions. This time of year they're yellow again but with autumnal hawkbit, sometimes called the autumn dandelion. I found this very sluggish, very tiny, solitary bee on a hawkbit flower. When I tried to ease it into a better position for a shot it crawled onto my thumb. I'm afraid I haven't been able to identify it. It could be a mini-miner.

It's the first time I've worn a jacket for a long time. The poor bee was probably feeling the cold.
