The day ends as it began

Snuggles with Scout hemmed the day.
Today was Grandma Meg’s funeral. Scout went to Beth’s for the day. Cathie thought she’d like to go to Salt’s Mill for lunch before the funeral. I’m so glad that was the plan because it meant we left at 11am.
Unbeknown to us the bypass beyond the Silsden roundabout was closed. There was no warning of this at all. So we sat on the little stretch of bypass just before it occasionally creeping forward for 1hr 30mins!!!
We turned off at Silsden figuring the moor road might be better than the way the rest of the ‘diverted’ traffic was going. We knew there would be no stopping for lunch. We quickly stopped at Betty’s being there was a parking spot right outside. Cathie bought us a quiche, apple drink and choc ladybird cupcake.
It seemed a very fitting ‘picnic’.
We got to the crem with only 20mins to spare!
The thanksgiving service after was really lovely and listening to Janice and Dave’s memories was really special. She was a remarkable lady.
During the tea and cake later, I chatted with Fred out in the sun in the garden. It was lovely to see her. It’s been such a long time.
After everyone left, Dave, Sarah and Cathie (plus family) wanted to go for a meal. So we went to The Noble Comb’ it was really nice to sit and chat with them all. :)
Scout had had a lovely time with the Laycocks and they had enjoyed her. :)
