Walking Wombat

Spring has sprung!

I have been having quite a lengthy holiday from blipfoto and it's just over 6 weeks since I last posted on my journal.  We are all going through such challenging times throughout the entire world at the moment and for me the past six weeks have been a time to reflect and try and make sense of what is going on around us.

I was jolted out of my meditative state this morning by what was in my mind an absolute miracle.  On the 4th of September last year Mauzee and I were enchanted by a little Golden Whistler who decided to come and visit us.  Well little "Goldie" as we decided to call him stayed with us for 8 months and was still residing at Wombat Hollow when we left for Western Australia in April.  Of course we were sad to know that he had moved to a warmer climate during winter and honestly, we never really expected him to return.

Just after 8.00am we both sat bolt upright as we were eating our brekkie.  There had been a knock on the window and the most glorious tune wafted into the room.  "Goldie" was back!!  We raced outside and what transpired was just so joyful we both nearly stopped breathing.  The little character seemed just as thrilled to see us as we were to see him.  It was like a scene from star wars as he raced backwards and forwards from the Banksia to the Sleeper Wall and the Veggie Patch.   We were laughing our heads off with joy.

I thought this image today was a metaphor for our determination to bounce into spring and be blessed that we live in such a glorious part of Australia and that we are fortunate enough to live in an area where little miracles like "Goldie" appear on our doorstep.  What are the chances of a tiny little bird finding its way back to Wombat Hollow after almost six months away.  We thought it was a miracle!!
