Churches Walk

Year 2 Day 165 of UK COVID-19 Pandemic.  First UK Vaccine 269 days ago.  UK open. Overseas travel with restrictions.

Amelia was collected by her mum this morning, and just after midday we set off on a local walk. Not far away is Newhouse Farm , Marstow, Herefordshire (built 1636) built by the grandfather of Jonathan Swift (Gullivers Travels) and we bumped into the lovely owner outside the house.. He was telling us he moves next week after 43 years at the house we her restored from derelict. The house sold for £1.3 million and he will still own the land around it. He's moving to the neaby village of Whitchurch. I bet that's a wrench, but he needs something smaller and more manageable.

Soon after we were infront of St Matthew Church (built 1855) which we can in the distance from our patio, with a blipfoto as the main. A couple of miles down a lovely winding lane we were at Whitchurch where we enjoyed a cuppa at the cafe in the local shop. The walk continued to St Dubricius Church (9th century onwards) where I took the extra picture.

The walk continued in the sunshine for a mile along the bank of The River Wye back to our house, totalling a pleasant five miles.
