Boys' toys

These big shiny trucks belong to the people who are working on the mysterious holes and pipes around our roads. On the weekend they just leave the trucks there. But I suppose no-one would want to steal them.
 
I chatted to a friendly traffic controller with a Stop/Go sign and asked her if she knew what the pipes are for. “Oh yes" she said. “They’re putting them in the ground."
