Mum and I went to Clapham Common to see whether we could see the Cayuga on Mount Pond... No joy, but we found a heron on the boating pond (up a tree at first, then it swooped down to pace around and fish). It had a bad eye (its right eye showed its yellow iris, but the left eyelids seemed swollen and the left eye seemed dark within), but the heron seemed to be getting on OK, and caught a fish while we watched.
