Snap, crackle, and pop

Backblip: Um?

Well, I never got to see Chatillon-Coligny.

Two things:

One - an intimidating dog was being allowed to roam off lead. It barked and snarled at us. It's owner took it away to her van but didn't leash it. We had concerns for the cat (and our dog).

Two - Dusty had been to the vet for his jab on the day that we left. It turned out that he had been infested with Harvest Mites and he is sensitive to them. We came home with some Steroid cream for home and had been treating him throughout out trip. We had seen improvement and thought him better but discovered at Chalon that he had been chewing his toes until they were bloody. Not good. We increased the treatments but he wasn't improving and was clearly miserable.

I was wondering how to suggest that we didn't go on to our next destinations but instead head home, when my DH broached the subject and suggested that we do just that. I am happy that we are on the same wavelength!

Dusty has a monthly pest control spot-on and it is very good but apparently not too good on Harvest Mites. The vet had suggested that we increase the frequency of application throughout mite season. We did a lot of Googling and found that Frontline is better at Mite control. We wanted to get hold of some and also get Dusty into a Cone to stop him from aggravating his injuries. So, home it was. I had expected to stop at least once on the way back but The Driver opted to put in a long day and drive all the way home. It was pushing 400 Km, so it was a valiant effort in a Moho!

I collected a few roundabouts on the way. This one had one of the traditional flat bottomed boats of the Loire.
