stroll for stella

This afternoon some lovely women in our nearby village of Dunscore had organised a fundraising walk in aid of Alzheimer Scotland and in memory of Stella McCubbin. Stella was a lovely lady who died earlier in the year. She  went on daily walks around the village and usually picked up litter on the way. Even when ill health struck, Stella was determined to get out and about. She was a cheerful person and a kind one, always keen to help out when needed. She and her husband Leslie volunteered to be subjects for my college photography project, "75 not out" in which I took documentary photos of older people. (See HERE ). You can see Leslie again in the main photo.

Joanna and I walked the Craig circuit together. It was so good to meet up with people I'd not seen in months, and all for a good cause, too.

Tonight D, Sarah and I went down to the river for a Fire Sunday, which we haven't done for ages. Home now, smelling of woodsmoke, to eat some plum and blackberry love cake, made by Sarah this afternoon :-)
