It’s International Vulture Awareness Day. An under-appreciated group of species, often maligned and poisoned, yet vital for our ecosystems.

I went to Tunduru Gardens for a while, to do some reading and interview prep for Monday. This achieved a useful dual purpose of making me feel more ready plus building confidence generally in my professional capabilities. At Tunduru life is slowing returning to normal following the partial easing of Covid restrictions. Wedding parties turned up for their photo shoots, only now with the brides and grooms wearing plastic visors.

The evening was delightful, verging on therapeutic. Lundula invited me around, and he made burgers and a jug of sangria. He had also bought some paints and canvas so I whipped up a little number based on a photo from last weekend’s trip to Macaneta. Not the worst attempt for someone who hasn’t used a paintbrush for about 25 years.

In the background we played a marathon playlist of The Voice clips. A highlight was this Norwegian guy singing a Lewis Capaldi track.
