Ref’d out

It was overcast at the start of the day so it looked like perfect weather for running about all day on the pitch.  Then the sun out in an unexpected appearance so it made for a very hot and tiring day for Ian.

He was refereeing for the Devon FA Ability Counts league. They had a festival day at Cully Rangers so Ian ended up ref’ing 10 games across the day. He really enjoyed it and said it was much more fun than ref’ing the usual league matches where the competitors and spectators are nowhere near as supportive of the play.  Leo and his mate went down to watch and they enjoyed it too.

Ian has to do it all over again on the 12th.  He was a bit nervous the first time around as the games are ref’d completely differently to able bodied games but he soon picked things up and is looking forward to doing it all over again.  He was also pleased that he could easily fit into his ref gear after dieting off he is lockdown pounds over the past few weeks.
