Tour of Britain

On the South-West leg of their Tour of Britain, here are the first five riders after a long downhill ride passing Blackpool Sands. They must have enjoyed the shade of the trees, and the downhill whizz before the steep uphill pedal in the Extras, which also include some of the Also-Pedalled, and one of many vehicles carrying bikes on roof-racks. (Spares, I presume.) All along the route, groups of people watched and applauded as the riders passed. Hard work on a day of hot, hazy sunshine.

Fun for the police outriders - dozens and dozens of them, leading the way, clearing the route, blocking side roads, and following on behind. Good day to commit a crime in South Devon with so many officers tied up - but necessarily so to keep all road-users safe.
