Anne's Daily Encounters

Olives

After meeting my SIL (yes ex-SIL) yesterday, we agreed to spend some hours in the eve together over a coffee or a swim. The swim wasn't possible with the heavy waves from the surf, but a coffee and a drive towards her olive trees we managed with pleasure.
She noticed that her trees bear little olives this year and thinks of not harvesting them this autumn. A bit of a false idea this is, coz if she doesn' t harvest the few this year, next year her trees may grow even less than now. So I advised her to review her decision and we surely will meet soon again for a swim together. I loved to find so many daphne trees in her olive grove... apparently these plants / trees reproduce themselves very easily; they're wonderful trees full of bay-leaves!
In the extra my SIL here.
