Windsor Castle

This is a daytime view of the same castle that David posted yesterday.

This view is showing a statue of Queen Victoria, who had many significant events of her life entwined with that of the Castle’s.

It has been a Royal home and fortress for over 900 years, Windsor Castle, the largest occupied castle in the world, remains a working palace today. The Queen uses the Castle both as a private home, where she usually spends the weekend, and as an official Royal residence at which she undertakes certain formal duties.

Windsor Castle is also a busy visitor attraction. Many parts of the Castle are open to the public.

We left Windsor to drive to Bracknell on the outskirts of London to pick up “The Duke” - our camper van (from its model name - Fiat Ducato)
And then drove in it up north to Lincoln, stopping on the way to say hello to Bryn in Birmingham and picking up some wine at Kevin’s company warehouse.
Tired and ready for bed now at Kevin’s apartment.
