Make Every Day Memorable

By Jorgiesmum

Awoke to grey skies and any sign of sun seemed highly unlikely.
After some discussion about how to spend the day, we decided to drive to Loch Buie for somewhere new to explore.
The area is well off the beaten track even by Mull standards and approached via a long (12 miles),very narrow lane.
To be honest most routes on Mull are very narrow, even the A roads.
At the end of the track there are a few homes and the newly refurbished Old Post Office, now a fabulous cafe.
We spent an hour or so enjoying a coffee and cake while watching the tide go out. The clouds were still clinging to the hills but the weather brightened enough for us to chance a walk.
Although other people had made the journey to the end of the track, not many seemed to venture further than the door of the cafe.
We had Moy Castle and Laggan Sands to ourselves. A vast expanse of dark volcanic sands set between hills.
None of the photos did it justice.

After a lunch of langoustines outside the cafe, we made our way to Croggan at the far end of a neighbouring loch. This track was even longer and narrower!
No cafe here but the promise of seeing otters.
Sadly not today for us.
By now the sun was out and it was hot. The rest of the country is enjoying a brief heatwave and finally we're included.
Another walk and we spotted 5 eagles soaring on thermals.

My blip was taken as we returned along the loch, back to civilisation.
