New Age Shopping

Ok, birthday over, getting used to the numbers that apparently now describe me. Woke up to a dismal Istanbul Grey Day. Curiousity and the search for entertainment were the drivers for Dad and me to go to Cevahir shopping mall - our first time. We wandered till weary and then recharged with a lovely late lunch. Satiated, we used the panorama view glass shuttle lift to go from the sixth floor food court to the deep, deep basement where to our utter amazement, we found ourselves surrounded by people screaming. A roller coaster in the bowels of a shopping centre was, I can honestly say, a new experience for my new age.

Opened on 15 October 2005, Istanbul Cevahir is the largest shopping mall in Europe, and the seventh largest in the world.
