Traktorentreffen

After a good night‘s sleep in the tent, we had a coffee and a croissant sat out, with a lovely view in the already hot sun at 8am. We decided not to do too much, just enjoy being there for a couple of hours, then to drive through some of the country we’ve never seen before. We picked up a sandwich and some yummy pastries to stop on the way to eat, driving through pretty villages, rolling hills and along rivers that I’ve never even heard of!
After arriving home and unpacking, we headed to the Old timer tractor festival in the next village. This event happens every 4 years, but this time it was 5. Such an exciting time for all the locals, hundreds of old beautifully restored tractors to walk around, beer and food tent, tractor pulling, and usually a fairground too. Normally a band playing, disco and a very late night for everyone, but it was a slightly cut back version, and not so late for us! The kids went together with a group of local friends on the Friday night, and were apparently back by 03.30! It was great anyway, we caught up with lots of people from the village that we haven’t seen for years, and enjoyed looking around all the tractors.
