Brimstone butterfly

It's been another lovely sunny day so I went for a walk along the canal at Lower Frankton.  Even though schools are back there were still lots of boats around and queuing up to use the staircase of locks.

There were lots of bees and butterflies - tortoishell, speckled wood, small white and this beautiful brimstone.  Their leaf disguise is wonderful although not much help on this purple loosestrife.

This afternoon I did a bit of gardening then sat on the patio and read my book with a cup of tea.  There's rain forecast for tomorrow so best to take advantage of the sun.

My son sent me photos of my granddaughter in her uniform on her first day at school.  Fortunately she loved it.
