A Perfect Summer Evening

It was 29 degrees C yesterday and promised to be one of those rare but perfect summer evenings, so after hours spent painting fiddly trellis panels, M and I decided to treat ourselves to dinner outdoors.  At Glandford, where the lovely Bayfield walk begins is the Cley Smokehouse Deli who've recently opened an al fresco dining area called 'Under the Sail'.  We shared a fabulously simple but delicious fish platter featuring some of their finest smoked fish and seafood. Served with a couple of salads, home made dressings and really fresh sourdough with an olive oil and balsamic dip. It felt just like we were on holiday with the sun setting behind us and the air still warm.

I took the opportunity of photographing the sunflowers in the nearby field behind 'Cley Spy', apparently they grow these to attract birds which can then by viewed by customers looking to buy binoculars and scopes from their shop there.  I've added an extra too.
