Don't say you weren't warned

Very high tides brim over the quay where the river flows under the bridge into the old harbour. Rough weather can drive the water over the road and all the houses have storm guards for their doors. It's manageable now but the predicted rise in sea level may make  this old part of Fishguard uninhabitable and impassable in the future. Even on a calm night the water swilling across the carpark is dramatic and rather eerie - a foretaste of what is to come.
