Petunias and rain …..

Petunias and rain do not, as a rule, make for a happy partnership, and there are many sodden flowers in our pots to prove the point. 


But today there are some blooms that seem as yet unblemished by yesterday’s rainfall, and they proudly wear today’s droplets almost as a crystal gown.  


By tomorrow, they too will sag on their stems, turning from sartorial grandeur into slimy mush…… Such is vanity.
