Pest Control

My best guess is that the charming blue structure is a nesting box, set there to lure an owl family. Owls can consume an amazing number of rodents in an evening, and hosting these birds is fast becoming a popular way to control the pest population. It's puzzling to me that the location of the owl box is in such a public place, right in front of the Civic Auditorium and across from City Hall. I would think all that foot traffic, and the noise from performances (if we ever have any again), would be a big turn-off to a bird family. On the other hand, the graphic clearly says Owl...
