Snap, crackle, and pop

Eep!

"Interesting" route today. Over 18 Km of narrow unmarked D road with much twisty, turny, lumpy, bumpy. Surprisingly busy at first but far quieter later and the only car that we met in the higher reaches was at a convenient point that did not require backing up. My heart was in my mouth every step of the way.

We topped out at 1,229 metres.

We eventually reached a village where a cattle show was in progress. As we exited, we spotted a motorhome aire. Still 15 km from our intended destination, we elected to stop and rest. It is a most excellent stopover and the only disappointment is that the Velorail was not in operation this afternoon.

We visited the cattle show but were unable to visit the cat show that is happening this weekend (specialty: Maine Coons, yes I am disappointed).

We bought local cheeses: Saint Nectaire, Cantal and Bleu d'Auvergne which we had for tea.
