Sheep

We were sitting in the outdoor area enjoying the wonderful sunshine when Ashleigh (the farmer) rode into the field with his daughter and three border collies, to feed the sheep.  He came over and introduced himself and answered all our questions.  He is the fourth generation of his family to farm here, and his four children he hopes will be the fifth.

He told us that the sheep were going to auction and that they would first of all be dipped to their copper colour, which makes them very pretty sheep I have to say, and brings a bigger profit I should imagine.  And we were told that after colouring they were blow dried with a hairdryer, such spoilt sheep.....  The two sheep photos were taken after colouring.

We had Sunday lunch in a local pub, and In the afternoon we visited Hawes, such a pretty place.  We had stayed there many years ago and were delighted to be back.  The flower displays were stunning and we were told that it is an organised display to which they all pay a premium.  I have added a photo of us at our coffee break, we do like our coffee breaks.....
