Top of the world.....

Another non harvest day, so spent most of it filling more barley into the wet grain tower. By tonight ,despite sitting with a hoe shoving as much as I could round the edges of the bin from the top hatch I had to admit defeat. Screwed the lids shut and will now need to dry any more barley and oats going into storage bins ,so more time and money spent.
A wee catch up at lunch time as a pal and her husband called in to get some oats and barley and standing crops to take to her local primary school where she works . Hopefully it will help explain to the next generation where their food actually comes from, not just Tesco !
The sun came out tonight so I tested some of the barley that's still to harvest but it was at 20.8% moisture content, still far too wet. So I went away down the road to feed cattle instead. Took a wee drive on the way home,so I'm not the only one with crops still to cut in the district. Always helps to make you feel better knowing that !
