Just Sit and Stare

By way of relaxation we did the trek up Golden Cap this afternoon, from the halfway car park.  The warm front had not yet arrived, although it was visible to the southwest, and the day was utterly gorgeous.  On Golden Cap were several groups, most facing towards Portland Bill, enjoying the autumn sunshine and the balmy conditions.  The sea was like a millpond.

On the way up to Golden Cap I took this photo (Extra) of Chideock, where Mrs B's grandmother lived, a long time ago.  It's a lovely village, except for the almost continuous flow of traffic – although it is forced to maintain 30mph by the prominent traffic cameras.  You can just see the cross commemorating the Chideock Martyrs in the field to the left, near where Chideock Castle would have stood.
