Dead Tree

We walked around the Skyhawk neighborhood this morning just to see what has been happening on the rebuilding front. The short answer is not a lot, but we were able to see that they have started framing the house across Los Alamos Road from us. We could see our house from the lot where this dead tree was looking almost picturesque. It's really good to see construction beginning in the neighborhood. Nothing happening on either side of us, but the neighbors living in a trailer on one side of us said they hope to begin construction in a couple of weeks.

It's a shame they've had to wait for almost a year and it will probably be a long process once they start. I'm very grateful for the fact that our house was saved and will have more to say about gratitude soon.  Gratitude is certainly not something we deserve, but we try to pass it on to all those who worked so hard to make it happen and to do what we can to help the neighbors who lost their homes....

Dana and Jim have arrived to make tacos for dinner....
